Happily, the infamous lump disappeared prior to the scheduled scan date, so the doc agreed to postpone the scan and keep an eye on Liam's skull. He has a "void" in one area of his skull, which can be normal given his history. So, the doc is keeping an eye on it for a while to see if it closes. We are assuming the lump was another leak of cerebrospinal fluid that reabsorbed into his head. This has happened before.
In other news, we saw ENT today and will do a new set of tubes in Liam's ears and have his adenoids removed on March 30. We knew this was coming, so it's not a surprise. We postponed it for a while to see if his ears would improve on their own, but they aren't and he's not a happy camper with frequent ear pain, so we're moving forward.
Thank you so much for your many prayers!

Firing up the blog again...unfortunately.
We would appreciate your prayers for Liam. All was going swimmingly until we noticed a lump on his head on Saturday. By Monday, it had increased in size. We were worked into Dr. Kelly's office today (craniofacial doc) and he has ordered a CT scan as quickly as we can get it done (started insurance approvals today). He noted that it was odd and that the skull appeared to have a soft spot under the lump. It's not unusual for a 3 year old to have soft spots, but the lump is unusual. Most likely, we will discover this is an anomoly that is nothing to be concerned about, but we trust Dr. Kelly's opinion and are moving forward with the CT scan. I talked to his scheduler late today and she thinks it will be early next week before we can do the CT scan due to insurance approvals. Please pray all is well with our energetic little guy so he can continue to run races in his walker!
We are again reminded: Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any of you by worrying add a single day to your life? Matthew 6:25-27

Casting for braces!
I have my fair share of mom guilt for various things, but tomorrow takes the cake! Liam turns 3 tomorrow (woohoo!) and we're celebrating by having him casted for his leg braces. Well, not really: We're celebrating later with the cake and ice cream and gifts thing, but we do have the leg brace casting appointment RIGHT on his birthday. Great, eh? Friends tell me he won't know the difference. Hmmm...
I do take some solace in the fact that I really didn't have much choice of appointment times, because they had a cancellation. If I didn't take them up on this time, it was going to push it into September, so I snatched it while I could. At least it will only take an hour!
For those who have been asking, I should find out tomorrow when the actual braces will be in and ready for Liam to try. Please keep praying for smooth sailing! It was kind of dicey with insurance approvals there for a while, but persistance paid off once again.
