"I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them."

I draw strength from you in your weakest moments. That's when you shine the brightest and light the path of persistence and hope. Did you always wonder back in those days of waiting what type of mother you would be? Now you know. The best.
Hi, I came across your blog when I googled "Shones Syndrome blog". I am always looking for other families with this diagnosis. My daughter is 2 years old and also has Shones Syndrome. We are in California, I was trying to figure out where you are at. Your son is so cute and it sounds like his heart is doing great. We also have a blog if you would like to check it out, www.sellstidbits.com. I hope that your son continues to do well and grows to be healthy!
"Jelly Bean" is our affectionate nickname for our son, Liam. He was born on August 9, 2007. He has three older siblings and two parents who welcomed him with open arms and loving hearts. He was given his nickname by our OB at our 8 week ultrasound, and the name just stuck. Initially diagnosed in utero with a severe congenital heart defect known as HLHS, we were happy to learn he had less serious heart problems upon his arrival. He has had one heart surgery and we are monitoring his heart to determine if he will need more surgeries in the future.
